Text - ASynfulSoul @Synthetica4 Replying to @genrentuk Rented a place that had a condemned boiler. Landlord refused to replace it despite it breaking down repeatedly and causing damp. When we moved out there was black mold on the walls due to the rising damp and they tried to charge us our whole deposit to pay for refurbishment!

Text - Red @redbaumday Landlord entered property with no warning, and one day started throwing out all the boxes in our storage cupboard we used for moving because "he didn't want things in the cupboard". Also told us we should "ask his permission nicely" if we want any visitors over #VentYourRent

Text - Sarah Cant @potatosezzy I was charged £60 to clean a single spiderweb behind a bookshelf. The same flat had flooded 2 weeks before we were due to move in and they never told us. A pipe leaked 6 months later and we were forced to take up the entire concrete floor. #VentYourRent

Text - chaos with ed miliband @tinymattresses My landlord came to visit the house without notice 5 times in 6 days. When I wouldn't give him permission to go into my personal bedroom he threatened to evict me. That was after we tried to get him to help sort out the mouse problem and he blamed the tenants. #VentYourRent

Text - Elizabeth Pascoe @ElizabethPasco6 I've been evicted for making a complaint about moldy walls. I lived in a house that had no hot water, heating, or fire alarm for 3 months. It was winter. The only landlords concerned about rent controls are the shit ones.

Text - teevoodo | afk @edgelordswift We complained about not having a co meter or alarm. landlord tried to fine us for damp in the bathroom saying it was our fault for not keeping the heating on long enough. Our heating is on a timer set by the landlord. We can't change it. #VentYourRent

Text - Six Cylinder Limited @6CylinderLTD I once lived in a flat where the landlord had given her mates keys I came out of the shower in a towel as three strange men walked in my front door for a "property inspection" I ran into the kitchen, grabbed a knife and screamed until they left #ventyourrent

Text - A. J. @DogOnTheRoof Replying to @KateFlood Landlords are heroes. When the ceiling was leaking in my bathroom, he came by, stabbed a hole in it with a broom like a caveman so more would come through and told me he'd fix it after winter was over. LL's are the REAL first responders.

Text - El Davo @eldavoo Replying to @KateFlood When our boiler broke in the middle of winter, the landlord kindly lent us 1 portable heater to share between 4 tenants - it was perfect for evaporating the condensation off our clothes in the morning.

Text - Craig Mills @excession100 Replying to @KateFlood My landlord once graciously didn't tell me for weeks that the extraction fan in my bathroom was faulty, the wrong type and could electrocute me in the shower. He didn't want me to worry.

Text - the Void @entervalhalla Replying to @KateFlood when my landlord illegally increased our rent without notice, he told us it was "1000% legal" but as a favour he would give us the (mandatory) 60 days. How kind.
