Tenants' Gnarliest Landlord Stories

It's little recaps from rightfully disgruntled tenants like these that end up giving the landlords of the world a bad rap. It could be gnarly cases of landlords going on power trips, thinking that they can get away with just about anything; or just genuinely immoral people being put in a position of power. We're not sure. Probably a bit of both. Hopefully none of these frustrating stories from tenants ring a bell.

    Text - ASynfulSoul @Synthetica4 Replying to @genrentuk Rented a place that had a condemned boiler. Landlord refused to replace it despite it breaking down repeatedly and causing damp. When we moved out there was black mold on the walls due to the rising damp and they tried to charge us our whole deposit to pay for refurbishment!

    Text - Emma @ej_edmondson Replying to @genrentuk When I was a student, I rented a house with 3 girls and had issues with our toilet from the beginning. Logged the issue repeatedly - told someone was going to fix it repeatedly - end of tenancy, whole deposit taken off us for "not reporting it".

When I wouldn't give him permission to go into my personal bedroom he threatened to evict me.     Text - Elizabeth Pascoe @ElizabethPasco6 I've been evicted for making a complaint about moldy walls. I lived in a house that had no hot water, heating, or fire alarm for 3 months. It was winter. The only landlords concerned about rent controls are the shit ones.

Had a pic of it the day we were shown the place and it was cracked then. Confronted her when she drove up in a sportscar (Iwork minwage)-she drove away quickly ??
